Some career milestones deserve a moment of reflection—and this is one of them.

In 2006, Stephanie Dobson was called to the Bar in Alberta, beginning a legal career grounded in care, professionalism, and a deep commitment to helping families navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions.

This year, Stephanie has been appointed King’s Counsel, with the official ceremony taking place on April 23.

Anyone who knows Stephanie knows this recognition is well deserved. Her work in family law has always gone beyond the technical practice of law. She has consistently championed collaborative and mediation‑based approaches, bringing clarity, respect, and compassion to situations that are often emotionally complex and challenging.

This appointment also reflects Stephanie’s long‑standing service to the legal community. From her current role as a Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta, to her many years with the Alberta Law Foundation, to her leadership within the collaborative law movement, legal education, and community legal clinics, Stephanie has continuously given back to the profession and the communities it serves.

Congratulations, Stephanie, on this well‑earned and meaningful recognition. It’s a testament to your integrity, leadership, and the positive impact you’ve had on so many people over the years.
