Call for Proposals: 2026 Networking and Educational Forum

DATES: October 29 - November 1
LOCATION: Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre
THEME: Collaborative Rising. Elevate Practice, Deepen Connections + Ignite Change
The Forum Organizing Committee welcomes proposals for Pre-Forum Institutes (PFIs) and Workshops that will inspire and inform legal, mental health and financial professionals engaged in Collaborative practice, conflict resolution outside of the court system, and alternative dispute resolution.
- PFIs are full-day (6-hour) sessions on Thursday, October 29th. These interactive courses are intended to provide participants with practical knowledge, new techniques and tools, and real-world examples that build their skills to advance their Collaborative practice.
- Each PFI presentation team (1 or more presenters in a PFI) will receive an honorarium of USD 2000.
- Potential topics could be (but are not limited to): Skills for Influencing Behavior and Change (touching on generational differences, Collaborative team dynamics, and clients); Marketing and Operating Your Collaborative Practice Business; Leveraging Technology and Artificial Intelligence for Collaborative Practice; Collaborative Principles applied outside of Family Law.
- Workshops are 3-hour OR 90-minutes sessions on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31. They will offer best practices developed by Collaborative professionals around the world, with content ranging from foundational to advanced. Thought leaders will share their expertise on building successful Collaborative teams, serving clients, and expanding knowledge and access to Collaborative Practice, mediation and dispute resolution..
- Workshop presenters (up to 3 per session) will receive a discount of USD 100 for Forum registration.
All proposals will be evaluated by a team of multi-disciplinary Collaborative professionals. Evaluators will use the following criteria as a basis for their session selections.
- The relevance of the content to the Forum theme: Collaborative Rising. Elevate Practice, Deepen Connections + Ignite Change
- The level of experience of the presenter(s) with their proposed content.
- If the content will provide innovative ideas for applying the core principles of Collaborative Practice.
- If the content will address interests of IACP's diverse international and multi-disciplinary audience.
- If the content will encourage thoughtful dialogue on difficult or evolving topics in Collaborative Practice.
- If the proposed structure / teaching methodology will be engaging, interactive and encourage learning.
Session selections will be announced in mid-April.
The Forum Organizing Committee welcomes proposals from emerging thought leaders in Collaborative Practice and from presenters offering innovative ideas to advance the global growth of alternative dispute resolution.
