Are you interested in helping your family law clients divorce in a less destructive manner? Collaborative divorce differs from litigation, pre-trial settlement, and even divorce mediation. It involves a Collaborative team approach in which attorneys, mental health professionals, and financial specialists join forces—without reliance on threats, demands, or the court—to support a couple through the divorce process and toward a new post-divorce relationship and way of life.
This training consists of four days of live presentations, small break out group discussions, and large group discussions; there are also pre-recorded segments (approximately 4-5 hours) that you will be required to view before the live segments. Participate and learn:
- Who makes up the Collaborative team?
- An overview of the process and the Paradigm shift
- How to present Collaborative as an option, and screen your clients for the process
- Ethical considerations, the Illinois statute, confidentiality
- How to establish a Collaborative team
- Collaborative team meetings (types of meetings, who is involved, timing, agendas)
- Debriefing at the end of the process
- Collaborative Divorce Illinois (requirements, benefits)
Virtual: October 1-2 and October 8-9, 2021 - 10:00 a.m. - 1:15 each day, plus pre-recorded segments that you must view on your own before the live presentation.
