Lawyer

I provide a variety of alternatives and resources to my family law clients, including collaboration, mediation, consulting, coaching and limited scope representation, when necessary. Having participated in the litigation system for the first 20 years of my practice, I am truly inspired by what the collaborative approach provides to those who are in the unfortunate circumstance of having to separate a marriage or living together relationship. In offering collaborative as an alternative to my family law clients, I am confident in the knowledge that their emotional and financial needs will be addressed in addition to their legal issues. With the assistance of a team that is focused on the family's best interests, we do a lot of behind the scenes work in addition to working directly with our clients to create win-win resolutions allowing the parties (and any children) to move on with their lives in a more positive and productive manner. It is my hope that the litigation model will soon be replaced by collaborative, mediation and consensual dispute resolution alternatives.

Area(s) of Practice: Family Law, including divorce, separation and paternity matters; asset distribution; child and spousal support; parenting plans; post-Judgment assistance and/or modification; and Premarital, Post-Marital and Cohabitation Agreements.

Comments

I am a Family Law Attorney, Collaborator and Mediator. With over 21 years of experience in Family Law, I believe that non-court avenues are in the best interest of those people having to separate from each other, regardless of the reasons therefor. Currently, collaborative cases make up about 25% of my practice. Collaborative, mediation, and non-court cases make up about 95% of my practice. My goal is to ensure that my clients and their spouses are fully informed about their rights and obligations within the context of a marriage or dissolution, so that we can then explore creative options in achieving a mutually beneficial resolution of all issues.
