My work within the Divorce Network goes all the way back to the early 1970’s growing up with my sister. My sister was all about women’s lib and equality. I was just a 10-year-old kid who idolized his big sister, and she taught me all about equality and perseverance at a very young age. Fast Forward 50 years and I still hold my beliefs of equality and supporting the underdog. That is a core belief, we all deserve an equal chance and opportunity. Sometimes we get it and sometimes we fight for it.
I have 35 years in the mortgage industry, and I have seen thousands of mortgages and divorces and each one is a snowflake. Each is as unique as the people who are involved in the divorce. Whatever has led you down the path of your divorce, you are not in it alone. There are many out here who can help with your transition from marriage through divorce and leading you back to a fulfilling life. My role is to work with members of your team of attorney’s, mediators, coaches etc. to make sure that at the end of your divorce, you can move on with your plans to buy out your current partner, move on to a new property or even just rent. I also work with people post-divorce to attain the same goals of home ownership.
It all starts with a conversation. I can learn more from you in a ten-minute talk than reading pages of documentation. My philosophy is to help you determine and reach both a short-term goal and a long-term goal. In the short term, what do you need to do now so that you can obtain the property and lifestyle that you want now. In the long term where do you want to be five or ten years down the road? The long term is harder as there are a lot of unknowns that you will need to address as they come up. I look at it like a path. A path has boundaries and direction but does not always go straight or over the easiest trail.
