Attorney, Mediator

I have been practicing family law since 2014 and am licensed in Virginia and the District of Columbia. I developed expertise during 6 years working on behalf of domestic violence survivors and vulnerable children at DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, where I served as the organization's Legal Director for 2 years. In that role I represented children and vulnerable victims of domestic violence in a variety of family law matters. I also counseled clients at family legal clinics and conducted outreach and community leadership. I served on the DC Superior Court Domestic Relations Subcommittee, and presented as a panelist at the 2021 DC Bar Judicial & Bar Conference (on a panel entitled The Virtual Child: COVID-19's Impact on Children's Voices in Court.) I am trained in both Collaborative Law and Mediation.

In addition to my professional experience, and equally important, my years managing my own home and family offer a breadth of perspective and wisdom to help understand your experiences: I know well how challenging the days can be with a busy household, active children, and bills to pay. These are important matters in your life, that don't take a break while you navigate your family law case. I will approach your case with sensitivity to your unique circumstances. I understand that families are complicated, and I make it a priority to help you bring clarity to your situation. I listen carefully and with empathy. I always have the goal of preserving your and your family's dignity and especially of minimizing the impacts on your children's well-being. To that end, I believe the collaborative process offers you the best avenue to engage in team work to address your family's needs through a difficult time.
