As a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP), I am specifically trained to work with divorcing homeowners to obtain best possible outcomes when it comes to mortgage financing and the marital home. There are very specific nuances to the lending guidelines and many potential pitfalls when it comes to applying for mortgage financing during the divorce process. It's important to involve a CDLP as early as possible in the collaborative process as part of the professional team in order to set up the divorce process for success. I typically collaborate with family law attorneys, mediators and financial professionals to work toward a marital settlement agreement that can, ultimately, be executed upon.
