Separation and divorce is a difficult transition for most people going through it. Litigation as a form of dispute resolution tends to bind the parties further into an ongoing adversarial relationship. This process does not help the parties move on with their lives. And it has very negative repercussions for children that are involved. A collaborative aaproach gives an opportunity for some level of respect to be integrated into the change process. This is fundamental and necessary to mental health and a successful transition.
