Profession(s)

Mental Health Professional

Angela works primarily with tweens, teens and parents with children of any age who are experiencing depression, anxiety, perfectionism, stress, and/or trauma. She understands that parents are the most influential people in a child’s life and that parenting is the hardest job there is. Therefore, she works with whole families, and sometimes only the parents, to support the family in improving their connection, communication, getting their individual needs met, and providing each other with emotional support.

Angela has her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and completed her Bachelors Degree in Psychology at Clark University in Massachusetts. She started her psychology career in 2006 working in group homes for children with acute behavioral and emotional needs. Since then she has worked as a case manager for teenage foster youth in group homes, and provided therapy to children, teens, parents, and families. She has worked with children and youth across diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, and sexual orientations.

Angela recognizes the effect intergenerational trauma can have and is committed to supporting children, teens, and adults who have experienced trauma so they can break the cycles from their past. This is something she is committed to on personal, professional, and societal levels. While it can be scary to talk about past traumas, once we are able to face and overcome our fears and learn new ways of coping, a great weight lifts and we are able to better enjoy our lives, families, and create healthier communities.

In her free time Angela enjoys spending time with her two young children, husband, and dog. Angela loves to read, do yoga, garden, hike, bike, camp, and go backpacking in the Sierras. She is constantly learning about childhood development, parenting, trauma, neuroscience, and other topics in order to grow personally, professionally, and to support her clients' growth.
