Profession(s)

Lawyer

Family Law Attorney and Author, Patricia C. Van Haren has been a practicing attorney since 2011. Prior to that, Patricia was a family law paralegal for approximately 20 years. Today, she advocates for clients, helping them strategize and choose issues that are appropriate for settlement vs litigation.
As a single parent who has raised three children, attended law school by night and has gone through a divorce, Ms. Van Haren understands how the process can impact the future of the family. Ms. Van Haren believes that where possible, issues can be settled outside of the courtroom, even in the most contentious cases.
Family Law Focused. Client Centered.

Each client has unique challenges. Our goal is always to work towards a resolution on issues that can be settled outside of the courtroom, so that we can reduce our clients’ costs. When making a decision to litigate or settle an issue, we thoroughly explain the process and engage our clients so that they can make informed decisions.
Helping Clients Make Informed Decisions through Education
Ms. Van Haren has authored the book How to File and Survive a Divorce in California. This book offers state-specific legal guidance on the divorce process, so that the public may be fully informed before taking outside help that may unintentionally damage their case – wasting time and money.
To further educate her clients, Ms. Van Haren regularly publishes blog articles, creates educational videos and hosts workshops to provide information for people who are considering divorce, going through the divorce process or have reached the other side of the divorce.
