Profession(s)
Mental Health Professional, OtherI am a Certified Divorce Coach, Collaborative Law Professional in North and South Carolina, and a Certified Parent Coordinator. I assist clients and families through all aspects of the divorce process. with children individually who are experiencing or have experienced divorce within their family unit.
Divorce is a difficult and extremely stressful time. No one imagines being in this position.
Similar to the emotions of when you first got married, emotions during a divorce are just as overpowering. The emotional journey of divorce forces partners to let go of the past ways of communicating as spouses and learning new ways of working together including how to be co-parents. A Divorce Coach helps parents make that paradigm shift and if children are involved I assist with parenting plans and co-parenting.
Emotions can overtake the Divorce Process:
Divorce is one of the most stressful events in an individual’s life. Learning to “relive” life is a major life transition and can disrupt all areas of your life. Individuals experience many losses when separating from a spouse and can often lead an individual feeling hopeless, confused, angry, and abandoned. These strong feelings can quickly turn to resentment, bitterness, and rage which makes it difficult for a civil divorce process. Having the support of a Divorce Coach through the Collaborative Process can help keep these emotions in check so that each spouse can effectively reach an agreement instead of letting their anger take over the Collaborative Process.
