Professional Activities

I began practicing law while working at Legal Aid in Lima, Ohio in 1992 and have been primarily focused on family law since becoming an attorney in Connecticut in 1994. In conjunction with this work, I have, for almost two decades, been volunteering to help families. I have served/serve as a Special Master for the Hartford Family Court, the Hartford court’s Early Intervention Program (EIP), the Danbury Family Court, the New Britain Family Court, and the Regional Family Trial Docket in Middletown. I am a Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation, have served on the Board of Directors of the Hartford County Bar Foundation, and had served on the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association (having been Chair of the Section in 2013-14). A focus of my office is my continuing interest in alternative dispute resolution. As for Collaborative Divorce, I am a member of the CDGWC (Collaborative Divorce Group of Western Connecticut -- www.danburydivorcesolutions.com), and until I moved from the Hartford area I was a member of the CDLA (Collaborative Divorce Lawyers Association). In addition, I am a certified mediator which enables me to provide mediation services for those matters preferring mediation as a means for resolution.
