Mark C. Hill, CFP, CDFA, is founder and Senior Financial Divorce Consultant at Pacific Divorce Management, LLC, a San Diego-based divorce financial planning company founded in 2001.
Mark has been involved in the financial services industry in an advisory capacity since 1983. He is both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER practitioner and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. As a financial planner with nearly 40 years’ experience, Mark's business has always involved assisting clients with issues related to budgeting, risk evaluation, investments, taxes, retirement planning and estate planning. Throughout his career, Mark's unique combination of business, financial and relational expertise has enabled him to serve as a go-to counselor to executives, business owners and families of wealth. In the past, Mark often acted as an unofficial board of directors to business owners and prides himself on creating collaborative relationships with a client's other advisors. In recent years he has focused his practice exclusively on the financial aspect of divorce.
In addition to Mark's interpersonal relationships with clients he commands an attentive ear when speaking to legal and financial practice groups such as the Financial Planning Association and Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts about Collaborative Divorce, alternative dispute resolution and the issues that are involved in the 'Financial Divorce'. He has been interviewed by media outlets such as Kiplinger's Personal Finance, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times and CNBC. Mark also has served as a trainer for Collaborative Divorce Team Trainings, a group responsible for interdisciplinary trainings of lawyers, mental health and financial professionals in the Collaborative Divorce team model throughout North America.
Mark has served on the Board of the San Diego Financial Planning Association and Collaborative Practice California (CP Cal) and as President of the Collaborative Practice San Diego on two occasions. In addition, Mark has served as a Regional Director for the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts and as Treasurer of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
