This 4 week online training teaches the interdisciplinary model of Collaborative Practice for Wills and Estates, to assist grieving families to resolve their estate dispute or facilitate family succession conversations before death.

This program suits estate lawyers, financial advisers, mediators and conflict coaches who want to add a high value service to their Wills and Estates clients while bringing greater enjoyment and meaning to their work.

This program also suits anyone who has completed collaborative training in the Family Law context who wants to qualify to practice collaboratively in the Wills and Estates context.

The program teaches the unique Collaborative Practice model developed for the pre-death and post death contexts with a particular focus on multi-party and multi-capacity facilitations unique to estate matters. Coupled with practical role play training in an estates “mock file” role play series, you will recieve comprehensive training for the Wills and Estates contexts not offered anywhere else.

After completing this training you will qualify to register as a collaborative professional in your Australian State and with the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).This training meets the IACP Standards for a Collaborative Introductory Training.

This Core Skills training is delivered online in Australia over 4 weeks commencing 19 April 2021. 

During the training you will have access to:

  • 16 hours of training - in a combination of self-paced training modules and 5 LIVE and interactive sessions (see details of dates and times below - note all times are Australian Eastern Standard Time)
  • A private online focus group of like minded collaborative professionals and experienced collaborative practice trainers so you can share your learnings and have all your questions answered; and
  • Electronic and hard copy course materials containing template letters, checklists, agendas, minutes, client workbook and Model Collaborative Participants Agreements for the Wills and Estates Contexts which you can adapt for immediate use.

LIVE Interactive Sessions

There will be 5 online LIVE Interactive Sessions throughout the 4 week program. The dates and times are below. Live attendance is required for the three roleplay sessions to complete the practical component of the training.

Zinta Harris 

Zinta Harris is the owner of Resolve Estate Law, a Brisbane-based Accredited Succession Law & Business Law Specialist, Collaborative Lawyer, and Mediator. After over 25 years practising as a wills and estates lawyer, Zinta has seen firsthand the impact of estate battles on hundreds of families. She now specialises in helping grieving families stay out of Court and work together to reach an early resolution to their estate dispute.

Zinta Harris is the author of the book “Rest in Peace – how to manage an estate dispute without inheriting heartache”. The book was awarded the Australian Book Awards’ ‘Best General Business Book’ 2019.

Zinta has pioneered the Collaborative Practice model and specialised training for wills and estates in Australia. Zinta received the 2021 Queensland Law Society's Agnes McWhinney award, was named the 2019 WLAQ Trailblazer of the Year and Lawyers Weekly 2019 Sole Practitioner of the Year for her work in this area.

Zinta has been training others in Collaborative Practice since early 2019 and attended the IACP Chicago Forum to co-present with Nancy Ross on Collaborative Practice for Wills & Estates.
