Date and time:
May 16, 2019 - 1:30am to May 17, 2019 - 5:30am
Event type:
Educational Opportunity

This advanced training will focus on working more effectively with what matters to the parties in
collaborative cases. Participants will learn interest-exploring and negotiation strategies, and an easily
adapted tool for collaborative teams to organize “what matters” as they move through the options
generation and settlement stage of the collaborative process. Jacinta will introduce the “Insight
Approach” to conflict and offer new ways of thinking about the conflict we see in collaborative cases,
and how asking about the parties’ hopes and their perceived threats can help us facilitate a deeper
dialogue in collaborative cases. Participants will learn how to use what is learned in the process to
promote an authentic shift from conflict to collaboration, without forcing or faking it.
