Civility Session - An IDEA Opportunity on Tuesday, February 8, 2022
Join the Collaborative Professionals of Southeast Michigan for an evening of conversation, listening and learning during a Civility Session with The Civility Project.
This is a 90-minute virtual session led by two journalists, Nolan Finely and Stephen Henderson, who have an unlikely friendship based on their different backgrounds and very different views on politics as often reflected in their editorial comments in competing newspapers through the years.
The Civility Project seeks to bring people of opposing viewpoints together for healthy disagreement, personal interactions and constructive conversations. During the Civility Session, participants will engage in enlightening discussion, learn to listen to others, and learn why the listening is important. We will hear about Nolan and Stephen’s unlikely friendship, have the opportunity to meet in small groups during 2 breakout sessions, and practice what Stephen and Nolan teach are the keys to building civility and understanding.
