Shelley Behr, MSW, RSW is a trusted family therapist with more than 20 years of experience. The founder of her own private practice, she counsels individuals, couples and families on a range of issues, including families who are impacted by the pain and chaos of divorce.

As a divorce coach and child specialist, she helps parents and children learn clear communication techniques and works to implement effective collaborative strategies. Her compassionate and non-judgmental approach helps parents understand the impact of divorce on their children at all developmental ages, and supports parents in developing a customized parenting plan that accounts for a child’s thoughts and feelings.

Shelley Behr guides parents in ways to discuss the early stages of separation and divorce, including telling the children about the divorce, managing the stages of grief and loss, and providing ongoing support for the family as they move through the collaborative process.

In addition to divorce and separation counseling, Shelley helps clients cope with and recover from mental health issues ranging from anxiety and depression to phobias, relationship issues, adolescent/child issues, grief, loss and life transitions.
