After having the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the world, I have been struck by the commonalities across cultures. What I've concluded is the all of us need to tell our stories and have them heard in a safe environment to feel validated and feel connected to others. This is particularly true when you are going through the uncertainties and emotions of divorce.

Comments: As a divorce coach and mediator, I have found that collaborative law can provide a process • where client's stories can be heard in a safe environment, • where strengths are fostered, and • where communication and conflict resolution skills are taught. All of which provides divorcing couples a process that permits the opportunity to move past that stuck, contentious place, to a place of healing, forgiveness and the realizing of new possibilities.
