Professional Education

I have years of specialized training in family therapy and psychotherapy, as well as therapeutic approaches in dealing with specific issues such as grief and loss, stress, anxiety, depression and eating disorders. My focus in recent years has been working with high conflict families in the divorce process.

I have been working with families experiencing separation and divorce ever since I started working as a social worker over 30 years ago. I have also had an interest in family law over the course of my career, in terms of how the legal system can better support families in transition. For me, collaborative law is a major step in the right direction, a process which can truly assist families to separate with mutual respect and compassion. Children especially benefit from their parents learning to better address conflict and form a functional co-parenting alliance.
