I believe in my family law clients. With information and support they have the ability to choose the best outcome for their family. I also believe in working co-operatively with other Collaboratively-trained professionals. As a founding member and Past Chair of the Collaborative Practice Toronto Group and Past President of the Ontario Collaborative Law Federation I have experienced first-hand how a 'team' approach can help couples improve communications, consider more options, and create solutions tailored to the needs of their particular family -- especially the needs of any children.

Area(s) of Practice: Collaborative Law
License(s): Member in good standing of Law Society of Upper Canada, called to the Ontario Bar in 1982
Professional Activities: Founding Member and Chair for 2006 and 2007 of Collaborative Practice Toronto ~ ~President, Ontario Collaborative Law Federation of Ontario 2010 and 2011 and Member of Board since 2008.
Comments: Since I first heard about Collaborative Practice in 1999, I recognized its potential to provide a better and more child-focused outcome for my family law clients. It is important for couples to know about all their options when they decide to separate. To help get the word out, I volunteer my time to write and speak about Collaborative Practice to professional groups and the public. I have had the good fortune to be invited to speak about Collaborative Practice in Cape Town, South Africa in March 2005 at the 4th World Congress on Family Law and Children's Rights; and in Tampa, Florida in May 2006 and Vancouver, British Columbia in May, 2008 at Annual Conferences of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. I have been practising Family Law since 1982 and during that time have served as Chair of the National Family Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and Chair of the Family Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association. I am currently Past Chair of the CBA's Women Lawyers Forum, Chair of the 9 CBA Forums, and on the CBA Board of Directors.
