Comments

Shortly after I began practicing family law, I reached the grim conclusion that the litigation process is a breeding ground for anxiety and suspicion. Although litigation is exhilarating and appropriate in some cases, collaboration is a better fit for most families. A family in the throes of divorce is already in crisis, and litigation only exacerbates the family's anguish and distress. Fortunately, people have a choice. Collaborative practice provides family members with the tools they need to keep the lines of communication open. I joined the Collaborative Law Institute (of Minnesota) in April 2004 and recently became a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Collaborative practice utilizes both my legal and clinical psychology skills and allows me to help my clients face their next adventure with hope and optimism!
