Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Training

Date and time:
July 12, 2022 - 8:00am to July 21, 2022 - 12:00pm
Event type:
Introductory Collaborative Practice Training

Courts see divorce as a strictly legal procedure. In collaborative practice, we see divorce as a complex process that includes financial, emotional, logistical, and legal aspects. This practice provides families with a team of professionals to help them redesign their family from one home to two homes so that the family can move forward without the collateral damage (emotional and financial) often associated with traditional divorce.

In addition to the benefits for clients, collaborative practice offers professionals the opportunity to work in a healthier environment focused on creating solutions rather than casting blame. The community provided by collaborative practice groups helps members as they grow into their own paradigm shift.

This training is open to attorneys, financial professionals and mental health professionals and will include:

  • • The values and skills required in the collaborative divorce process including how to work with an interdisciplinary team
  • • The roles of each member of a team such as attorneys and neutral professionals including family professionals, financial professionals and child specialists
  • • Ethical considerations
  • • Strategies for working through impasse
  • • Successful examples

This training meets the standards for IACP introductory trainings.
