It may seem like the Forum is a long time from now but, in reality, it is right around the corner. In fact, the deadline for submitting your proposal for workshops (90 minutes or 3 hours long) and Pre-Forum Institute presentations (all day and paid events) is March 10th. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to participate in this magnificent event. Please submit your proposal before it is too late.

We welcome proposals from both seasoned veterans and new presenters. I remember how exciting (and intimidating) it was when I conducted my first workshop but I am glad I did it. Each time I present a workshop, I feel good about helping support the growth of collaborative practice. Frankly, I learn so much through the process of putting together a proposal and presenting a workshop at Forum. It takes some effort to put forth a proposal, but the benefits far outweigh the costs.  My first workshops were conducted with other presenters who helped share the work and worry. Each time, I was so glad that I stretched myself and lead a workshop. Do not miss out on the deadline. Submit your proposal before March 10.

Please save the date for the Forum. Our theme this year is, Change the Future: Collaborate. It is October 19 to 22, 2023 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Everybody wants to come to Canada, right? Don’t miss out. It is going to be great. I was in Toronto this past weekend so I walked around the hotel where the Forum will be held. It will be a perfect location. Toronto truly is a world-class city. We went for dinner in the restaurant in the hotel which was granted a Michelin One Star ranking! It was amazing.  Consider staying a few extra days in Canada, enjoy the fall colours of the leaves, the beauty of the great lakes, and maybe venture to Niagara Falls. There is so much to do before or after the Forum in Canada. Oh, and the Forum is going to be great. Our plans are coming together for a great event. Every year I come to the Forum, I learn new ideas and leave energized again.

You are invited to apply to be on our Board of Directors. Serving on the Board has been a really great experience for me. We have a fantastic Board. Everyone is fully committed to supporting the growth of Collaborative Practice and consensual dispute resolution processes worldwide. For me, one of the greatest benefits has been learning from so many talented professionals. It feels good to be part of the leadership of an international organization helping to bring peace into the lives of families worldwide. I hope all of you are thriving in 2023. We have been experiencing a growth in the number of Collaborative cases so far this year. It is so great to see our movement grow every day. Thank you for helping bring peace to families everywhere.

In anticipation of an exceptional 2023 Forum in Toronto, the Forum Planning Committee is accepting workshop and PFI (Pre-Forum Institute) proposals earlier than in years past. 

Do you have great ideas and cutting-edge information to share with the Collaborative community? We want to hear from you!

Keep in mind that Forum attendees have varying degrees of Collaborative Practice experience, serve in communities from around the world, and learn in various ways. 

Proposals will be due by March 10, 2023.

We invite you to take the first step towards becoming part of IACP's Leadership by submitting your Board Expression of Interest now! Applications and recommendation letters must be received by March 15, 2023, to be considered.

As New Zealand Board Member Selina Trigg says, "Come join one of the best Boards in the world! Serving on the IACP Board has been one of the most personally rewarding experiences of my career!"

IACP's Board welcomes diverse interdisciplinary professionals from around the world who are active members, can attend regularly scheduled videoconference board meetings, are available to travel to Forum and semi-annual in-person board meetings, are leaders in fundraising efforts, and are willing to serve as ambassadors of IACP!

All applications and recommendation letters must be received by March 15, 2023, to be considered. Please have two references each provide a recommendation letter directly to IACP via info@collaborativepractice.com to be considered.

Potential Board members must have:

• Maintained IACP membership for at least one year,
• Served on at least one IACP committee prior to consideration for Board service; and
• Attended at least one Annual Networking and Educational Forum
• All specific Board Service requirements and policies can be reviewed here.
  

Board terms run for three years and will begin immediately after the 2023 IACP Forum in October.

Kris will share her real-life experience and timeline for achieving the goal of building a Collaborative Practice.
