Marge Coffey, LCSW
(Mental Health Professional)
I am so impressed with the potential for using collaborative divorce that I've taken all the mandatory training in the past few months. I will be taking advanced training in the fall. There is significant overlap between my 27 years of working with couples, individuals and families and collaborative practice. In addition to belonging to IACP, I also belong to four collaborative practice groups in the Washington, DC Metro area. I have worked with couples and individuals for more than 25 years and have witnessed the damage of litigation, to partners and to their children. It's wonderful to be able to help couples resolve their divorce needs respectfully.
I provided marriage and family therapy on an inpatient psychiatric unit at Johns Hopkin Hospital; I conducted research in the Child Psychiatry Branch of the National Institutes of Health and have published, first-author and co-author, 98 scientific articles in esteemed journals under my business name of 'Marge Lenane'.

| General Comments |
| My goal is to help divorcing couples understand their options so they can make decisions that preserve their control over the process. I facilitate their decision-making in the best interests of themselves and their extended family (and pets, if indicated). I am aware that divorce goes far beyond the signing of divorce papers and I help the couple plan for future events in a spirit of cooperation and respect. |
