Carol J Miller, (Psychologist/Mental Health Professional)

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of psychotherapy experience with children, couples and adults. In addition, I have a law degree and practiced law prior to pursuing my doctorate in psychology. Collaborative practice appeals to me as a unique melding of the best of both skill sets, and I am enjoying my work as a child specialist and divorce coach. What I find particularly effective about the process is the way the cultivation of respect and transparency both protects families from the fallout of a more adversarial approach and lays the groundwork for an amicable future relationship. Even the least conflicted divorce involves coping with losses, and the ability to come to an agreement in a collaborative divorce on shared goals can have a healing effect on the parties that is quite powerful.
