Frances Fite, JD (Lawyer)
Vision: I have always considered myself a peacemaker. Since I began practicing law, I have sought creative, workable solutions for my divorcing clients. Convinced that adversarial divorce cases are too often destructive to the family, and especially, to children, I trained to be a mediator over 20 years ago, and still believe that mediation is an excellent process for many families. For those with more complex issues, be they emotional, financial or otherwise, I am passionate in my belief that the relatively new Collaborative Practice model fills needs that neither the adversarial model nor mediation can adequately address. I am especially grateful for the shared enthusiasm for this Process among my colleagues, including attorneys, mental health and financial professionals, and for the belief shared by all of us that practicing in the Collaborative Process will, at the very least, help our divorcing clients share in achieving more positive outcomes from their divorces, both for the parties and for their children, and enable them to move forward with their lives in a positive manner. At times, with the engagement of all concerned, I believe the process can even work miracles.
