Kathy focuses on integrating Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, as it is used in the dispute resolution setting, into her mediation practice. She also facilitates Authentic Communication Groups that practice conflict resolution in real time using NVC and IFS. She has spent nearly 10 years facilitating and participating in Internal Family Systems interactive groups, and more than 25 years practicing Nonviolent Communication.

Professional Activities

~Completed the 15-hour virtual Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training, led by Tampa Bay Collaborative Trainers Adam Cordover, Jeremy Gaies, Kristin DiMeo, and David Harper (March, 2024). ~Co-presenter at the Association for Conflict Resolution, Florida Chapter (April, 2024). ~Organized and hosted a mediation training, titled, Managing the Negotiation Within: Internal Family Systems training for mediators, lawyers and other professionals, led by David Hoffman, founding member of Boston Law Collaborative and Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School (January, 2024). ~Currently in a 10-month Interactive Internal Family Systems (IFS) Group Leader Training, led by Jay Earley, Ph.D. (Ongoing). ~Facilitator of Authentic Communication Groups (2020 to present).
